The Single-Action Army Revolver was produced in several forms and many calibers from 1872 to 1940, with production totalling about 350,000 pieces. As its introduction coincided with the settlement of the "Wild" West, the name "Frontier Six-Shooter" were popularized. Made for both military and civilian use, most were produced in 45 caliber. This non-firing replica carries the star of Texas on the wooden grip, commemorating the pistols made by the manufacturer for the Texas Rangers.
The Colt Single Action Army revolver, aka Colt Peacemaker was designed for the US cavalry by Colt's Manufacturing Company and adopted in 1873. It is a single action revolver safely holding 5 rounds with an empty chamber under the hammer. It was one of the most famous pistols of the old west.
